If you want a little more thorough way to monitor outages on your internet connection, try Net Uptime Monitor (netuptimemonitor.com). I wrote this program after struggling for 3 years with an intermittent connection. It tests the connection by pinging three different public servers and it writes a plain text log with the start time and length of any outage. Show the log to your ISP to document the exact problems you're having. It worked for me! Good luck...

OMG! Really???? Ping and tracert are included in Windows 7???? So AWSOME!!! Next thing, somebody will be putting cup holders in cars! Oh my, what a crazy world!
