Being traitorous would imply we swore allegiance to Gamepro...which we certainly didn't. I come around often to read through threads and such but I don't post often because a certain member who has created a hostile environment for fellow Gamepro members. I enjoy this site, lol. The community is welcoming and kind, and I feel like I can say CPU or c2 stepping without having to explain what that is. PCWorld is fine, you're just creating unnecessary drama.
Given the -1's on our posts I'm guessing things are much more like old times.

Don't know who is doing that, and it is unfortunate that someone sees fit to abuse that. We have made changes to try and cool that down some, but it still gets done, just to a lesser degree. Best I can do is to award a + to offset the - if the - is unwarranted ( in too many cases it usually is ).
You really, really should have checked out GamePro's forums over the years before the site was terminated.

Oh, I have seen some pretty wicked stuff on other boards. :D Doesn't make them very inviting for sure. I can also extend that to some Tech Forums too, where they have their Prima Donna's, that look down their noses at everybody else. :P

Yes. Dumb things do happen in most forums, I on the other hand am a true gentleman.

I'd never double cross any of my bestest friends just because I would find it amusing, and enjoy seeing them emotionally tormented. I do not make friends just so I could stab them in the back for my own personal amusement. Hey, I'm not a cruel, cold person with no heart.

From what I saw in other gaming sites, wasn't so much as a back stabbing. It was more of someone trying to help someone else with a problem running the game. Another member stepped in and belittled the member for no apparent reason, as the member's advice was sound. I also wondered out loud where were the moderators or even if there were any. The thread was about 24 hrs old when I found it and she wasn't real pleased in me stepping and potentially resurrecting it ( she had a point there I guess :D ). Essentialy the guy was a troll pure and simple and she was worried that by my responding to that and bring the thread back to the front he would come back. He did, but only gace her a brief mention and then focused his attack on me. He quickly found out that I was no one to be trifled with, then I got a PM from her with a bit more. Something in the vein, of "See, he came back. What are you doing, you aren't a moderator here. " I calmly told her that I wasn't moderating or trying to, just giving him a dose of his own medicine and thread died after that. She was happy and let it go as she really didn't get dragged back into it anyway. Also. I have a lot of frends here, but when it comes to moderating, I treat them like every other member and if they get out line I will call them on it. If some think I stabbed them in back, well so be it, just doing what I am supposed to do.

That poor woman shouldn't just sit there taking it from him, she should stand up to him. If there weren't any mods present at the time, she should then do what I would do and tell the person in charge of the site. The site itself would be responsible for allowing things like that to happen, so she should make a complain. If things still don'tt work out, she should sue them for emotional damages caused by a poorly operated website.

I remember a similar situation happened to me back in Gamepro: Ace, Patsfan, Wulf and I were all accused of being alts. I will not mention who it was that had gotten all our ip addresses mixed up, it turns out that none of our ip addresses even matched any of the alts that he had boldly accused us of being. I have tried to explain to him that I was not the alt in question and hoped to settle the situation with him in a civilized manner but this ignorant person chose to act in an immature fashion, also making the problem much worse and going as far as to antagonize me in front of the whole community.

I must tell somebody with a much higher position than any of the staff members in the forums in hopes to settle the problem. My father who is an attorney, told me many times that I should always fight for my rights and to stand my ground. Keeping my father's words fresh in my mind, I sent a simple PM to the head of Gamepro with some screenshots for proof, I was then told the problem would be handled in an efficient way.

I was relieved, but didn't know what "handled in an efficient way" meant, I guess it was a way to say that the problem would be handled in a way that no one would even know, and also in a way that wouldn't offend him either. Anyway this is a free country and you should fight for your rights! Don't let people walk all over you. BTW coastie, tell me where you have met this woman and I'll give her the number to my father's law office. I think she's got a good a case and can win some big bucks for something like this.

She could handle herself. She has a wicked temper as I found out when I stepped in. :D This guy was a professional troll for sure. As I said, the thread ahd been dead for about 24 Hrs, so I probably should have left it alone, but I didn't like what I saw and and made a comment, nothing more, nothing less. The woman lives in Munich, Germany, so I doubt if that will be of much help. Anyway, that was last summer and it has long since died. It was on GoG which is an International gaming forum. She also got engaged so has mellowed out some. :D It also helped when I got her the Corsair H80 cooler she wanted but couldn't afford at the time. That was an adventure in itself, shopping on Amazon.de, as my German isn't all that good.

You are really kind, despite how that woman treats you. Posted Image

Anyway, I did not want to tell anyone about what had really happened to avoid some major bogus drama. Since Gamepro is no more, I thought I might as well let it all out of the bag. I would of understood that he didn't take a liking to us, but to deliberately pin something on a bunch of people that had absolutely nothing to do with anything is just not right. The man got it all wrong and I guess karma just paid him back seven-fold.
