Seasons Greetings!

I just acquired a Thinkpad R60e and now trying to ethernet-network it with an older XP machine via ThinkVantage Access. On the Thinkpad's Network Connections' LAN or High Speed panel it lists Local Area Connection 2 Connected, while on the older XP machine the Local Area Connection Status window indicates "limited" connectivity. At least there is SOME connection, so I got halfway right, right? As a non-techie Mac user I am used to just going up to the "Connect to Server" item on the main "Go" menu and typing in the server address and up pops a client's icon on the desktop but I see no equivalent here to work with.

Really thanks for any help!

What exactly are you trying to do here? Are the two PCs connected directly via an ethernet cable, or are you connecting both to a router?

Typically their will be a light that blinks if you have a connection. The light is usually right next to the where you plug the network cable in.
