It would be so cool if they would let a middle-aged half-balding blogger try them on for an interview. My current progressive lenses have neared their end-of-life (my vision is changing again). Kids save yourself the hassle...don't get old.

Never understood why people still wear glasses where you can wear contacts. 99% can't pull of wearing glasses, they look like they might as well wear a pocket protector.

The reason is because they're "TRI FOCALS". Contacts only have one focal lenght.

Additionally, many people (myself included) have astigmatism - mis-shapen eyeballs - that cannot be fixed with contact lenses. In case you were thinking, laser surgery is also not an option.

Also, there are people that are squeamish having anything near their eyes. Besides, the 99% you say can not pull off wearing glasses, i am sure can, it is just the type of glasses they chose. One last thing, i thing some girls that have the nerdy look is cute... Ok, i am done bashing the superficial person.....

Anyways, does anyone know if insurance will cover these glasses? Also, i do understand the basic idea of bi-focal glasses, but doesn't everyone have different prescriptions even for bifocal/trifocal lenses? How do they adjust the glasses for each persons prescription?

Just stop at 'never understood', or, better yet, skip the comment.

What would be even cooler/better would be to switch on/off sunglasses... I've tried transitions, and they are crap. don't work in cars, and slow to change. one touch sunglasses? I'd buy a couple pairs...

I couldn't tolerate contacts and I TRIED. They made them smaller; I couldn't wear them. They made them soft; I couldn't wear them. My correction was huge; contacts couldn't correct it completely. I used numbing drops; I couldn't wear them. PLUS, neither astigmatism nor presbyopia could be corrected with contacts.

Cataract surgery and implants made it less problematic; I no longer NEED my glasses to FIND my glasses! Yes, that is just how bad my correction was.
