The main problem with Unity....too many to name them all. It is slow;it is a resource hog too. The side dock gets in the way.Gnome 3 is far better though Gnome 2 is so natural and easy;everything is where it is supposed to be.LXDE or XFCE heck even E17 are far better. I'm not a big KDE guy but KDE is prettier and plain better. Unity is the worst GUI I've seen.

I rather like Unity. You can disable the dock and you can 'push' it out of the way with application windows. Your mileage may vary but I think it will work for me in a tablet.

I actually kinda like Unity. The side bar actually bumps out of the way by open windows (hides), so it's not really an issue. I'm currently using Mint 12 just because I really liked it, but it wouldn't hurt me to go back to Ubuntu. I haven't played with LXDE, XFCE, or E17, but I have to loudly disagree with you regarding KDE. I tried KDE in the 90s, and I didn't think it was as good as Gnome then. I tried KDE in the 00s, and I didn't think it was as good as Gnome then. I tried KDE a month or two ago, and I still don't think it's as good as Gnome (2 or 3) or Unity.
