I have to ask, if you have 1,000 times more energy in the same size battery as a current Li-Ion, then why don't you end up with a 100,000 mile range? Assuming a 100 mile base range. I am just trying to understand the math here. 1000 x 16KW = 16,000KW... at least where I come from.
EDIT: OH WAIT - I think I get it! They will simply reduce the number of cells to ensure we can't actually go any real distance!

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'" -- Isaac Asimov

I think batteries will be even more optimal for buses than for passenger cars as they follow a predictable stop start route and mostly are confined to cities so worrying about running out of charge isnt an issue.
