Oh you mean like LTE 4G, HIGH Resolution 1280 pixel displays, LED backlit LCDs, GPS, MODERN 16:9 aspect ratio displays .... things THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN on MOST ALL Android Tablets the the iFAD 2 DOESN'T and the NON-EXISTANT iFAD3 MIGHT COPY????

CrAppleTard ... Delusional to the end.

You can be sure, the new features in Windows 8 will be COPIED by CrApple and show up in the NEXT version of OS heXed and of course all the CrApple Hack Media like PC World will claim CrApple had it first. Like are the features Windows had long before CrApple: MULTI-TASKING, Tool Bar, Tool Bar that can "hide", 64-bit OS, Dual Booting OSes, User's Desktop Folder (Library), a MAIN Download Folder for all apps (Win XP LONG before OS X 5), etc. etc.

CrApple is the big Idea Thief ... the great iNOvator.

Windows 7 does not run any "apps." It runs real-world "programs" that are not toys.

Tsk-tsk. Look up that IP address. I bet someone logged in with their REAL account right before that sock puppet was created just to post that cowardly attack with.

And no, they copy things like 'look and feel'. Microsoft won't be making any tablets. You'll see 1001 variations of flimsy, heavy, clunky junk from various OEMs, and a few passable pieces of hardware, that are 'too expensive' for windoze fans who only appreciate the poorest design, lowest quality at the lowest price. Running Microsoft's OS, very poorly.

'App' is short for 'Application', BTW.

If you remember 64 bit XP was a joke and Vista was the first Microsoft OS with a folder dedicated to downloads. And think about this. Macintosh OS created the GUI. If Mac OS didn't exist there would be no Windows, so who's copying who? iPhone was innovation, iPad, iPod, MacBook air (first to catch on big time) iTunes and AppStore all were Apple innovations! As of right now, 4G is not battery friendly, nor widely available, 1024x768 is fine for a 10inch screen, it is led backlit?, your phone has GPS, 16x9 is nice, but not a big deal breaker for almost everyone, and for those reasons, apple will not implement these features until they are needed. And go look at any samsung phone and say they didn't copy apple.

Then why is there AppData folder?!? App is short for application! Apple uses that term, so does microsoft! It's fine!

The developer preview of Windows 8 left me thinking it should be called Window 8. (Without the 's').

You can't really multitask "Metro apps" at all, and they get suspended when you toggle away from them. The "Metro" apps MUST run full screen and you can't even run them in a "window", which was the whole point of Windows, so you could have multiple Windows (with the 's'), running at the same time.! The Metro interface is basically a poor version of a Fisher Price toy with big ugly, clunky looking boxes as your menu. There are no nice 3D looking icons with transparency or anything. It's really quite ugly. The "real" Start menu has been removed from the Desktop interface, yet the millions of current Windows programs we all have, must run under the Desktop Interface, thus you constantly switching back and forth between the Metro interface to 'click the big square' to run your program, only to have it switch back over to the Desktop interface to run it. If a real start menu doesn't find it's way into the Desktop interface, most corporate environments will be sadly disappointed with Windows 8 and I've already discussed that our entity should just skip Windows 8 altogether if that's as good as it gets. Too much hassle and confusion to re-train 10,000+ users to use the disfunctional Metro interface.

The GUI was not created by Apple, it was created by Xerox at the Palo Alto Research Community (PARC)in 1973 - long before the Macintosh.

ABSOLUTELY 100% TRUE _ at least from what I can see. That said, Windows 8 will need to be compatible with the real machines and the toys. I hope that it works out that way in reality.

'Apps' is the abbreviation for 'applications'... like Photoshop, InDesign, etc

You don't know SFA about Macs.

Just saying ;-)

Xerox created a very rough version... they weren't about to do anything at all with it.. they didn't have the imagination to see the awesome potential. Steve Jobs did, and the rest is history. All the Apple-bashers who dump on Apple should be thanking them for making all these devices (tablets, phones) usable and popular. And did any of you know that Steve himself has always said that Apple often copies other tech... but makes it simple, beautiful, and user-friendly. That resonates with the average consumer. They don't target techies (who get a boner for specs, specs and more useless-for-the-average-consumer specs).

PARC user interface

The PARC user interface consisted of graphical elements such as windows, menus, radio buttons, check boxes and icons. The PARC user interface employs a pointing device in addition to a keyboard. These aspects can be emphasized by using the alternative acronym WIMP, which stands for windows, icons, menus and pointing device.

from wikipedia so it shows you how apple copied everything from xerox, it wasn't a rough version

Why are some comments about apple for? Apple is dead in the computer world and now the phone world. Did everybody forget that Microsoft bought shares of apple and was on the verge of buying out apple entirely to save apple from being bankrupt????
