The Windows 8 metro UI = me continuing to use Windows 7 for as long as possible.

I haven't been able to find a definitive answer on this about Windows 8.

If running Windows 8 on an ARM style device, will it "only" be able to run "Metro" apps? (i.e. - ALL you existing Windows apps will NOT work.)

I've heard that running on an ARM restricts Windows 8 to only running 'Metro' style apps, but can't seem to find a Microsoft statement or answer to this.

If you are restricted to Metro on ARM devices, like the plethora of tablet devices, then what really is the point of Windows 8? I mean I can already play Angry Birds on my phone and Android tablet and can't think of any reason at all to get stuck with the Metro only interface and apps!

For Mexico Additionally dificulty to find one, is deliverability to the Country. Many are going to see until mid 2013 if they are lucky. Transicion in Companies is going to be more slow. Then accesories deliverability and finally probe of concept. Hard for IT staff. As with Wp7 money of myself to bribg and show to everyone in the Company.

Without a doubt THE most hideous UI I have ever seen in the history of time. It looks like an ad for Lego building blocks.

If Apple made it (Metro UI) it would've been hailed as one of the best designed UI's out there.

If Apple made, I presume the reactions would be different.

We won't really know for sure until the tablet is released, but according to this other article:

Quote

Amidst the fanfare of MWC 2012 and the launch of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview, came news on the ARM front: Qualcomm and Nvidia were both starting to ship test units to interested developers. Then came a twist: according to ZDNet, Windows 8 on ARM devices won’t be able to join Active Directory domains.

People are already raising questions about whether or not Metro apps have a place in the enterprise, and complain about the fact that there’s no way to run legacy x86 or x64 apps on Windows 8 ARM devices. Now there’s another big, additional asterisk for business users who might have been pondering a sexy Snapdragon S4 or Tegra 3 quad-powered device.

My guess is that it's true, and Microsoft likes the answer to your question to be cloudy... to keep you waiting until you can get a Windows 8 tablet, rather than having you go out now and buying an Android or iOS tablet.
