The problem is Kodak Cameras have come down in cost but haven't come up in features, Cannon is routinly comeing out with camera systems that just beat kodak to shame.
consumers are moving to a prosumer market and kodak is being similar to a childrens camera.
they should have focused on a lower cost market with higher resolution and better image sensors.
my 450.00 kodak i bought back in 2005 is crap now this is when 5MP were top of the line for normal consumers. When cannon has a the Rebel that takes way better pictures, has allot better color balance and does better in lower light conditions.
simply put you take mediocre pictures with a kodak when you could take very professional looking pictures with a cannon.
that move to the inkjet prints was a mistake, i love my mini print for my kodak but as i said above the picture quality sucks now.

IMO, Kodak made decent, low-cost film cameras; but their digital cameras are not the quality of the competition in terms of performance and reliable features. Sure, their price points are good, but try having one of their digital cameras serviced (which I had to do) and it was ineffective. They contract out their service which never fixed the problem after three attempts. Still under warranty and guaranteed (from e-mails and phone calls to their tech support) to get a replacement which never happened. I can NEVER and have never recommended a Kodak digital camera based on my experiences with three of their digital camera models.
