I for one won't ever be purchasing a title exclusive to Origin. I've been using Steam for several years and it's earned my loyalty over those years by providing excellent support, download speed and a vast catalogue of games from publishers. No game is worth using Origin for.

By not including steam as part of the distribution plan EA has alienated a large percentage of the PC gaming community. I understand their desire to draw traffic to a new platform and through it market their products directly to a captive audience however, they've underestimated the enormity that is steam. It's a bit like trying to launch a new operating system and then asking why everyone is still using Windows.
Don't try to be the Microsoft of the gaming world. Instead, focus on being the Adobe of the gaming world and make your products available to the majority of end users regardless of their interface preference.

It's different than operating systems. Running a new operating system means you can't run Windows at the same time. It's easy to run Origin and Steam at the same time.

I wouldn't even consider buying it on Origin.

Wow, another genius move by EA. I was ready to buy all three Mass Effects on Steam, all at once, when I noticed that I couldn't get the third without installing EA's (presumably terrible) client. Now, I'm just going to go buy used copies for Xbox, so as to make sure EA doesn't get any money from me. Way to cost yourselves $80 just to unnecessarily inconvenience and antagonize your customers, EA.

I would say that if you want disgusting service and, in order to use DLC you have to be online and when your not you have zero acces to the DLC, but if you can look past all of your wasted money, you should get origin. I wanted to play ME 3 so badly I decided to get origin and buythe N7 digital deluxe for PC but I don't have constant internet connection so I have wasted a lot of money in order to get it. In short don't get the origin version unless you are ok with no Offline DLC and various other defects
