Hi.

I work for a organic products distributor and I'm trying to find a good way of converting the Purchase Orders and Invoices that we receive from our customers in PDF format to XML or Excel so I can import them into our inhouse software. Does anyone know of something that will do that?

Ouch! That would be difficult.

There are programs and online services that can convert a pdf to a .doc or .rtf file, the contents of which can easily be brought into Excel. See Pdf to Doc.

Do all of these pdf files follow the same format? If they do, and you're good at such things, you can probably find a way to extract the data you need. Otherwise, I'm not sure it will be worth it.

Lincoln, I'm happy to report that I found a solution! We managed to find a PDF to XML converter website that does it. We email them our PDFs and it converts it to XML and emails it back to us. It's called EDI Link connect.

Anyway, thanks for your reply.

The feature is present in adobe PDF as well as nitropdf, you can do it through any of them, if not then there are tons of solutions available online to convert, you just have to upload the file to the website, and click convert and they will convert the PDF for you!
