If this dotcom guy is so respectful of the law as his lawyers would have you believe, then why does he have multiple aliases, multiple names on various travel documents, an illegal firearm in his home, and once he knew the police were at his house, he continued to hide from them?

Just because you are respectful of the law, doesn't mean "the law" is respectful of you. Maybe he's paranoid? Also, hiding and cowering in fear is actually a pretty reasonable response to people busting down your doors, screaming, and waving guns around...
Regardless of all that, I think these guys are probably guilty, even though I don't agree with the methods employed here by the authorities.

That tub of goo reproduced his filthy genes 5 times. What kind of nasty double x chromosome would co-mingle with that mammal. You are only scared of police if you are a criminal...period.

I'm not commenting on this guy getting charged, but your final statement is very wrong. Even if you don't believe it, everyone has a good reason to be afraid when suspected by police. It is very possible to be unfairly charged, or worse ... It happens all the time, and its statistically proven. If you are week or suffer from something like clinical anxiety, police might think your guilty and try and force you to testify. The Oppression supporters like that bitch Nancy Grace, say " I would never sign anything saying I did it, if I was innocent". Well I wouldn't either! But I'm not a susceptible person, I also don't have mental challenges. What if a detective was cracking down on someone mentally retarded? That's just one small example of US justice, I'm not even touching our drug war (ever been a pain patient? Ever carried your own prescription out of bottle, maybe spent a couple nights in jail for it?)
If I'm being really honest with myself, I wouldn't even waste my time with this post. People like you would never believe the truth, regardless of evidence, always excusing even the most legitimate grievances.
