I am at my wits end. I have a desktop computer. I have a single ethernet modem that is hooked directly to my computer. I am running windows XP. For some unknown reason I am unable to access these sites: www.bok.com and us.army.mil. I have tried 4 different browsers(IE,Firefox,Opera, and Google Chrome) and it will not find those sites. I have even tried to ping the websites and they come back unfound. I have several computer friends and we have tried 1000 things and none work. I would LOVE it if ANYONE can help me figure out what is wrong. I leave for the Army in March and really need to be able to access my email. Thank you so much!

I can access bok but not the us army thing. (army.mil works however) Tried Google DNS? That works quite a bit in cases like these.

Not your IP address, your DNS server. It's not that hard to do. I have a few tutorial videos on youtube, so I just made one on this and uploaded it.

@trainer73096

When This Happens, Do Not Forget To Try The Websites With And Without 'WWW.'.

A - I Can Access BANK OF OKLAHOMA With CHROME.

B - I Added 'WWW.' To The Army Site And It Has Some Kind Of Certificate Problem - I Gave Up On CHROME, But Could Go Around It And Did Access It In FF.

May be there are some problem in the hosting of the website. Nothing to do with your computer.

I think the second website is not accessible because its a military site and you can't access defense websites. The first website offers what? I mean what is all about? B)
