how can I find out the e mail address for my hp photosmart c5580 printer? I have a Chromebook & in order to link it to my printer, I have to get the printers e mail address & put it into my Chromebook, before I can print from the cloud.
Thanx.

Hi, Liza, and welcome to the forums.

I think you may be a little confused here. AFAIK, printers don't have email addresses. Perhaps you mean it's MAC address. You'll find instructions for getting it here.

If that doesn't help, please give us more information. What kind of printer is it? How are you connecting it to your PC (I'm guessing you're doing it over a network)? Where are you being told that you need an address?

Actually, I think you can send things to an email address with newer HP printers to print from things like an ipad.

You're right! I was in error. Thank you for your correction.

Liza--If you have an HP printer with ePrint support, go to https://h30495.www3....g.ep-find-email for instructions.

Maybe this will help:

    1. Turn on your laptop and insert the installation disc that came with your wireless printer. Wait for the installation software to load, and then select the destination hard drive you want to install the hard drive to. On a PC this will be your "C" drive.

NOTE: I prefer downloading the Drivers and utilities directly from HP

    2. Power on your wireless printer when prompted by your printer's installation software. Wait for your laptop to recognize the printer. If your printer is not recognized by your laptop, you may need to temporarily connect your printer to your laptop with the USB cable that came with your printer.

    3. Follow the onscreen instructions for naming your printer and selecting an IP (Internet Protocol) address for your printer. An IP address is a unique number assigned to any device that connects to the Internet.

  • 4. Follow the onscreen directions to complete the installation on your laptop. Then disconnect the USB cable from your laptop and your printer, if necessary. Test your wireless connection to your printer by printing some documents from your laptop.
