It is going to be minor hardware updates and mostly a software update. That is what Apple is good at hiding. I predict thinner, lighter, and more expensive.

Apple's OS have all been backward compatible with previous iphones/ipads, so we can rule out a software update. I think we are assuming it will be an Ipad 3 and not a iPad 2HD. The only reasonably reliable information so far is that the screen will be higher resolution. Most blogs think the new iPad will have the same processor. I don't think they will go with a new major version number unless they had a new processor, different case design, larger battery size and higher resolution screen.

I'm starting to think that when Jobs died, so did the Apple products. All the products now are not as intense as it was before Jobs died. I think it's more about greed. "Yeah, will sell you the product, but slowly increase specs."

Ben... noticed the number of "NO" votes compared to the "YES" votes.

"Rumor" articles about CRAPple overpriced toys are a waste of everyone's time and belong on Mac World. I would be happier if this stuff was kept out on my PC World email newsletters. As I have NEVER signed up for any crapple related news. Or make a new newsletter just for you fanboys.

The rumors that have been going around is:

1. Resolution likely to be 2048 x 1536. Rumor claims its an IPS display. However the PPI over that size puts it below "Retina Display".

2 - The display is rumored to be made by Sharp and will make the new iPad slightly thicker because the display is thicker vs the last.

3 - Very likely not to be Quadcore
4 - Very likely to have a larger battery to deal with a power consumption of the new display.

The OS will likely be iOS 5.2 to handle new features like 4G/LTE and likely a 5MP - 8MP camera.

Likely will support 1080P recording/playback...

Either way I am glad they are making a new one, so the retail on the iPad 2 will drop. Wifey wants one.

The "no" votes aren't due solely to anti-Apple people. People are just tired of clickbait rumor articles.
