I read that the new logo is going to be like this:

I have to say, what were they thinking? That's pretty ugly if you ask me. Meanwhile, someone on tomshardware posted this suggestion:

And I have to say, that last one is pretty neat. Seriously, how can Microsoft screw things up THAT badly? At this rate, I will VERY likely be skipping Windows 8. What about you guys?

Edit: I read that that logo was fake elsewhere. I certainly hope so...

Well, I am running Windows 7 and the old saying is, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Well, it ain't broke and I'm not moving.

And with Google's new search UI, I think their idea is that if it isn't broke, you HAVE to break it. Ditto for Win8.

I spent about 2 minutes in paint.net and came up with this using just the magic wand and gradient tools (messing with the win 8 logo):

And no, I am not a professional at all, and I don't even have ANY knack for art. So how is it that Microsoft can mess this up so badly?
