I hate to rain on the parade, but it's time to get an honest review of TurboTax in the open.
After all, the government wouldn't be pushing an investigation of the industry if T-tax wasn't part of the wholde scam.
I'm fed up with all the companies that are profiting hugely without erver having to face a real customer, provide a place for instant dialogue, or take any responsibilty for the pile of crap they cause unwary tax-payers.
Oh sure you can talk to an accountant, during reguar buisiness hours (for a price). I was late filing 2011 and responded to Turbo-tax invitation for a free "try." I made a couple mistakes, such as showing pre-payment of $25,000 in income tax withholding. I tried everything to delete it: No dice, not even an override would do it.
To sum up, the software is expensive, back breaking, not easy to use at all, and they shut off my 2011 return, actually deleting it because it was "too late" to file it, which was entirely bullshit. I had entered over 200 entries by hand. I have arthritis in my back, hands hips and knees. I cried. I called, wrote to them, pleaded and begged. I offered to pay double. "Sorry sir, the deadline has expired (all new to me). They deleted all my files including one on my computer. Today I found the very last copy of 2011. I opened it. It deleted before my eyes. They made sure I wouldn't use the file. When I logged in to Turbo Tax, they indicated "they didn;t have me on file." Will Superior Court help me? Let's see, shall we? When did contracts cease to exist, just becase it's inconvenient or un- profitable for one party to perform her/his end? They also removed my 2010 files and deny me access.
Check out the T-tax community and see what some of the problems are for the taxpayer. Fool me twice,,,Last year my return went from $800. refund to owing $700. That's why they deleted it from my files. I was insane and stupid to trust these un-truthful, irreponsible, untrustworthy and preditory
cheat artists. Summary: Minus 4 stars--=---
