I can't believe it but I actually like it. It's clean, simple and matches the Metro interface nicely. Just my 2 cents.

It seems that the horizontal divider in the logo isn't in the perspective with the windows above and below.

Maybe it's my eyes.

I laughed when I see that new Metroized logo. I'm sorry, but I don't like the look of it along with the Metro. I'd take the orb and a ripple effect any day. Why not have clouds inside the Windows logo? :)

The new logo is as boring and pointless as the Metro interface itself.

But what's even more boring will be trying to run Windows 8 on an ARM processor device. Basically you get cell phone capability since NONE of your current Windows apps will run and multitasking Metro apps is an absolute joke. I also wonder if Microsoft realizes that everyone can already browse the internet, get their email, and play Angry Birds on their cell phones and tablets right now? (So what exactly is the point of running Win8 on an ARM then?)

Ah drat. That's too plain. I like the multicolors.

That was my initial reaction as well... the perspective seems a little off. I'm a graphic artist, and I'm going to drag the image into Illustrator and draw perspective lines. The key is to draw a 'horizon' line and then make sure all the perspective lines running through the logo meet at a single point on the horizon line, like railroad tracks. Stay tuned.. I'll do that in a day or two.

this is just like going to the very start of windows as the logo timeline shows above. Windows has gone full circle

You're right, it isn't in perspective, it looks like they just made a blue square at an angle and put a white cross in the middle... it looks awkward lol...

People, it wasn't made to look like it was in perspective. The rectangles are "tiles," or the building blocks of the Metro interface. Look at it, and the tiles are raised, hence the "lack of persepective."

looks similiar to the original windows 1 logo.

It's like a blast from the past in the future.

To some extent the New Logo reminds me of Four Square Ciggarettes. Personally I prefer the old Logo.... Adolf
