This is due to of mis configured BIOS settings, hard disk overage, malfunctioned programs etc. So always prepare for this type of error if you are using Windows OS, take backup regularly to not pay any amount for your data.

I use the ol, 'push and pray' method. Push the power button and pray it turns back on.

Thanks for the info.

However, I've had similar issues when my PC would not recognize my hard drive and it was a matter of either cleaning the contacts on the HD or changing the cable from the MB to the HD. I usually try the cheapest fix before going on the to more difficult, and sometimes frustrating trouble- shooting methods.

BTW I've used this method to clean RAMs a week ago and they worked,

I just cleaned them with my fingers (no fancy cleaning solution or microfiber cloth needed) maybe alcohol could also be used to clean those things, I use it to clean my calculator from blue ink and dirt, cleaned my router, screen... with alcohol and it does a great job to remove any unwanted stuff (It can remove writing on the computer or stickers so be careful)

HDDs usually work without even cleaning
