Give Obama another 4 years and see what 1984 is really like!

To disagree without being disagreeable is the art of debate. Simply because one has a strong opinion, it does not necessarily make an alternative opinion less valid.

This is exactly why Web Hosting companies like GoDaddy should not have the power take down a site just because some Joe-Shmoe told the Secret Service to. Especially without legitimate proof to back up their claims. Apparently, "Innocent Until Proven Guilty" has no meaning in this country anymore.

Is that typical for the Secret Service to involve itself in copyright issues? I doubt it. This sounds more like some terrorist cell was using the site to disseminate information between its members.

Sometimes we forget that it only takes one eager beaver, or one Miz Grundy to mess things up in any company or agency. Why assume everyone in any company is out to deprive you of your freedoms? At least here those freedoms were testored.

I highly doubt it too. Unless it starts happening more frequently on more sites. I can understand, though, why a lot in the Web would get frustrated over this. Clearly Secret Service works at the Secret level and with no regard at most laws. They certainly were given permissions to mess around with this website without giving them a reason nor explanation.

FBI and Police does criminal investigations. So, why was the Secret Service in there?

Just an observation...

The Secret Service answers directly to the Office of the President of the United States.

The Department of the Treasury is under the direct control of the Office of the President of the United States.

RIAA and MPAA feed the Department of the Treasury with tons of money.

If you can't do this math, head back to the 3rd grade...

ACTA is all the proof we need. Laws are not needed for this. If the Office of the President wants it done, it is done. There will be no due process because there is no law on which to base the action. Get over it. For all the work of screaming down SOPA and PIPA, it was a waste.

Have fun being owned...

Yeah these 2 associations has enough money continuously sue and influence the copyright law. They have spent, perhaps, billions of dollars on lawsuits. The media industry is basically monopolized like this.

Your comment of SOPA and PIPA's protest being a waste is flawed, though. If it wasn't because of the protests against these Bills many companies would have suffered an open and less fair prosecution. I'm pretty sure that if Secret Service continues making their investigations with no explanations whatsoever, then there's a possibility of more uprisings and lawsuits between supporters of both sides. Keep your eyes open for any other secret service, MPAA and RPAA activities. It looks like we have an unofficial copyright war.
