iGoogle & Google +

I have a friend who has iGoogle installed. Seems like it has really messed things up and all her tabs and stuff has been changed. From what I have found that thing thing was full of problems that were never resolved and Google moved on to Google+ instead. She does use gmail, and I told her to uninstall iGoogle as she should be able to use gmail without that thing. She liked the Home page with iGoogle.
They had put out a couple of "Fixes" that didn't work and some updates. Supposedly there was a fix for the UK version that did work, but I think that may have been debateable. Anybody have any thoughts on this mess?
