The 550Ti's are fairly powerful, but your CPU will keep you from seeing 50FPS or higher @ 1080P/Ultra. Also, Skyrim has proven to be quite sensitive to SLI cards, and has fairly heavy micro-stuttering, you may be better off with a single, powerful card.

I have been playing it on a 560Ti and it does fine. If you haven't already gotten the processor and your budget can handle it, I would suggest going with the 960 rather than 920, but I suspect you already have the processor as I think the 920' may have been discontinued.

OP, keep in mind that coastie has a 2600K, and that others say Skyrim is rather CPU-dependent (I don't play it myself though).

I didn't say that the i7 920 won't do well. Only that it can't do 50fps at the specified resolution and quality. The answer to question is that no matter the video card choices, the CPU can't do what he is asking.

The 560Ti may be able to do it, on the right system.
