How plain or flashy a browser looks is very subjective and you can use a separate RSS reader if you want to. I've made Firefox have the same look and feel of IE9, but the nav/tab bar gets raised up to be as close to the minimize/maximize/close buttons and the web address and tabs have a glass effect that makes use of Aero Glass. I've changed the Firefox Application Menu from a label to icon-only and made it almost transparent. This is all done using Stylish.

A web browser is a web browser is a web browser. I don't put too many add-ons in Firefox except for NoScript and Flash Block.

how about reviews on google canary, firefox aurora, and opera 12. i use all three development channels, for different reasons. canary is the least stable, but, i experience very few crashes. all support the very few extension and add-ons i use.

My concerns with IE and Chrome are their data-collection associations with major marketing and content services - although I certainly use Google and MS services, I won't use either of them for anything that identifies or caches information on the "real me", e.g. purchases or banking. Mozilla and Opera work fine and are standalone products that don't siphon everything I do into their broader sales and marketing apparatus. It's best to "silo" browsing to protect privacy.

In Chrome, you still can't put bookmarks/favorites on the left as in Firefox and IE. Everyone's preferences are different, but I won't use Chrome without that feature.

The main issue I have with Chrome is the handling/display of tabs. It should provide an option to scroll tabs as in FF. I use some sites where I load dozens of tabs and can visibly see all of them as I scroll.

The real answer to this question is "use the browser that you're comfortable with".

It's the first time I knew RockMelt! After reading this article, I install RockMelt, It's totally different from other browsers I've used before. It's cool!

I am not an IT professional, however I've always understood that Google was the most secure, and Explorer was the least... I used Firefox for several years until one of their upgrade versions frustrated me so much I left for good.

I always thought Firefox was the best. I've tried Chrome far some time, but didn't like the layout. Firefox, I think, has the simplest layout.

I've tried Chrome. It is an underwhelming product with limited add-on support. I used this browser for six months (in various updates) and found it NO faster, NO more stable, and NO less resource hogging than Firefox.

So I switched back to Firefox. This browser gives me full support for everything I do.

If you don't ask for your browser to do anything, go with Chrome or Safari (one of the worst browsers I've ever seen). Internet Explorer is also a secondary product.

All I know is Firefox works better on sites that have Flash and JavaScript content than any other browser.

Firefox also has better add-ons and themes than any other browser.

In the end the most important factors in a browser should be useability and security. The fact Firefox works better on more sites, has add-ons to cater to everyone's needs and is a secure browser is why it's the best browser.

You list Chrome as uniquely having URL Domain Highlighting, when in fact Firefox also does this, but without the annoying behavior of hiding the start of the URL.

I use Chrome, and I wonder why no one is mentioning how bad Chrome prints web pages. The fonts are ugly, the letters not spaced equally, and sometimes one line is cut off among 2 pages, i.e. the upper half on page 1 and the lower half on page 2.

Am I missing something? Am I the only one suffering from this?

That is one of the main reasons I don't use chrome. Chrome seems like a better browser in some aspects, and it is faster, though some addons aren't as good.

Personally, I prefer Avant browser and chrome. I use chrome for it's fast speed ans stable while Avant browser for its tri-core rendering engines and build-in video downloader and some other build-in features and buttons.
Firefox is also good, but I can use firefox engine in Avant.
