I am surprised at Internet Explorer's relatively low score. It does well, what I want it to do. I don't and will not use Chrome becaause I see no advantage. It is mostly though, because I disapprove of their policies on a number of issues.

Opera has had extensions (not just "widgets") since version 11.

It always amazes me that more people aren't using Mozilla Seamonkey. It integrates browser and email functions which I find really convenient and the profile manager allows individual users to configure the browser and receive their email without changing computer users. Plus its core is Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird based.

I work with Joomla which means that Chrome has some serious shortfalls. I tried the new Joomla and a host of extensions-Chrome failed my personal test.

As a regular user of Firefox and Opera I can notice the writer is not familiar with Opera to opine.
Tabs can be placed on top, left, right or bottom. The can be stacked and they reopen next time you start Opera. I believe you only know Firefox and IE

You state that you cannot "sync" favorites without Microsoft Mesh. I always use SyncToy from Microsoft to sync all files across my networked PC's. Synctoy is available at http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=15155

I've used Opera for about 8 years, the first 6 with Windows and the last two with Ubuntu. There are some sites that it will choke on, so I have to use Firefox occasionally to get my business done, but 99% of the time it works fine. One bit of info for anyone interested: I recently discovered that its Turbo feature will conflict with Open DNS; you have to disable it to get the full benefit of Open DNS.

Why won't anybody mention Waterfox, a 64 bit remake of Firefox that is also optimized for SSE extensions, giving it a significant speed advantage on high powered PCs. I can open hundreds of tabs in waterfox, close the browser and then when I open it again, all the tabs will be there within 1-2 seconds of the browser opening, whereas the regular firefox (32 bit) would take at least 30 seconds to load all those tabs.

In your latest issue you stated:
"Chrome minimalist design isn't eye catching"
and
"Themes: no"

But those were completely incorrect. Google chrome has not only HUNDREDS of themes to choose from, but you can also add your own picture to www.google.com
This makes Chrome the best in themes.
In my chrome you will see my toolbars and backround have an Angry Birds theme. And on my Google Search page, I have a picutre I took in the bahamas.
To get to these features: Select the wrench and open "options". In options, go to "extentions". Under extensions: select "get more extentions". On the left hand side bar of that website select "themes" at the bottom".
I believe you will greatly like this way of personalizing because, unlike others, it keeps the simple interface while changing the background.

I switched from Firefox to Chrome several years ago because of its design and ease of use. Then about six months ago it would not play a video in full screen unless I minimized the browser. Also, if I kept the browser open to play music or read my e-mail, then went back to my browser, I had to minimize the browser to go back to using my music program or read my e-mail -- or any other open program. I have done numerous solutions to try to fix this problem but nothing has worked. So yesterday I decided to go back to using Firefox. One nice thing about Firefox is the syncing of bookmarks with Firefox on my Android tablet. My only complaint about Firefox is that when you Add, Disable, or Delete an Add-on you have to restart the browser; something you don't have to do with Chrome.

The real answer to this question is "use the browser that you're comfortable with".

Exactly correct.

The ABSOLUTE DEAL KILLER FOR CHROME for me is THE LACK OF HISTORY AND FAVORITES BAR ON THE SIDE. Firefox has this function and I use it all the time. Chrome has a much more unwieldy way of showing history in a separate tab that I find unusable. Let Chrome have this function of a simple scrollable list on the right of the screen and I will start using it.

To be honest with you all I have used Google Chrome when it first came out. This is bar none the best browser in the WWW. Speed, and no Flash crashes are big points with me.

Anyway Opera 11.61 has Widgets (which are separate applications) and Extensions (which are plugins/addons)

I like Avant Browser because you can choose the Rendering Engine that works the best for what you are doing and switching if easy. The Autofill is also great ( : > ))
