This is great, if I were to update to win8, the first thing I will not have to do, is delete win live.

I like the Microsoft Your Account interface. Hotmail's hasn't changed yet, but I can see how they might integrate some metro stuff into it. This is all good as far as I'm concerned (metro however isn't...).

I think that I can learn the new system AS LONG AS the hotmail at my desktop is the EXACT SAME hotmail system on the mobile device. I don't want to be dealing with two different systems between my desktop and my mobile device.

isn't the Xbox is keeping the live branding because it came before everything else was called live?

More than likely they will drop support for the Windows Live Essentials suite or what is going to be that suite for Windows XP and Windows Vista to persuade people who use these programs to upgrade. However Windows 7 will be supported and the new programs will work on Windows 7 or later. Windows XP or Windows Vista not so much. I use hotmail, xbox live, and Windows Live Photo Gallery and Mail out of all of the programs from this suite. Hopefully those won't change too much.

yeah. Microsoft sure was all over the place with branding. but who can blame them as they've been in the game for so long.
is it the metro interface design that's forcing the shorter names or more so seeing google doing well with the short and to-the-point names?
Google account, Google drive, google calendar, google chat, google music, google news, Google books, etc.
