If you choose to bypass IT, shouldn't the consequences also bypass IT? BTW saying IT doesn't get the cloud is a little like saying a nurse doesn't get pills.

IT surely gets it as well but confined it with their personal use knowing that it will and is a security issue.

Employees just look on the usage and have not much concern on security.

IT gets it. Imagine how much it would cost to support all the devices and technology. It's all great until it works or security gets compromised. All it takes is one hack and then somebody loses their job. Funny how a writer and a user only look at their benefits and IT makes decisions for the BEST interest of the company. Basically why we make the big bucks. Do you ever go to a doctor and tell them what you need? I didn't think so.
