After reading the latest issue of PC World they didn't even rate McAfee. I bought it for my computer but have not yet installed it. I have read a few things that were negative about the McAfee. My question is, should I ditch the McAfee and go with Norton instead? I've used Norton for the past few years with no problems. I haven't used any McAfee virus software since probably 2002 or so. Any Advice would be appreciated.

{size:18px}[/size]:D Hi : Except for "Site Advisor" that McAfee bought from another company, I would NOT put either a McAfee or Norton product on my computer . You would be a lot better off using the Good & FREE Avast Antivirus Home Edition ( www.avast.com ), which has 7 "Providers/Shields" and EXCELLENT Support Forums . And you should be looking into installing antiSPYWARE/antiTROJAN protection, as well as a software firewall . McAfee came in next to the bottom in recent Tests done by the Independent Service at www.av-comparatives.org .

yeah back when I used a pc I never used Norton's or mcafee. every pc I worked on that used them seemed to have more havoc caused by them than actual virus's . I always used and recommended AVG its free and it works with out reakin havoc on your pc.. but now I made the switch to mac and Don't have to worry about that crap anymore..

Thanks for the replies. I have actually been using Norton for years now, and it has always worked great for me. I bought McAfee because it was 15 bucks cheaper but read a few reviews that said McAfee really slowed down the computer and stuff. I decided to go ahead and buy Norton AV 2007 and just finished installing it. I'm used to it and I feel secure with it so I decided to go with it. It seems to be working great so far.
