Hi guys. Sooo... this randomly happens... I turn my computer on 1 morning and get these errors:

http://i1170.photobu..._Pete/probs.png

It's pissing me off.

Also, I cant click the top left of my Screen. I was told it was a virus.. I think. I was linked to a few anti spyware programs. I already have norton. When I ran all these antivirus things.. it said something about a Babylon toolbar, and facemoods toolbar or something. I never recall downloading ad/or installing that [censored]. Also another problem., And avast reckons I have a high threat. I moved it to the chest... does that mean its dealt with? I dont know how to access the chest. Remember I use norton too (from when I first bought PC(3 days remaining)).

When I run these programs.. things seem fine. I can click the top left parts of my screen again. Then when I restart or log off and in again I get them. Cant access my recycle bin, or anything there on the browser. Also, lots of my files have been deleted. Like.. my programs and stuff.

*Also, whenever I go posting on forums like this I always like to give a shoutout/Thanks to those people who browse the place helping random people.. Good on ya*

Hi, Fisher, and welcome to the forum.

It could be malware. Let's work on that first.

You should try scanning your hard drive with a bootable malware scanner such as AVG Rescue CD or Dr.Web LiveCD or LiveUSB. You might even want to try both.

You boot these programs from CDs or flash drives. Since Windows doesn't with this kind of boot, a Windows-based malicious program can't interfere with the scan and/or repair.

Please let us know the results of your scans.

Thanks for trying to help, but...

I honestly have NO idea about what you are talking about lol. CD's? The CD's I have are DVD's and games. I am not the smartest with all this stuff, but willing to learn if it fixes my computer.

I am constantly getting warnings on the bottom right of my screen declaring problems with bittorrent.exe. I have bit-torrent for downloading tracks with friends (for a motorbike game) nothing illegal.

I cant uninstall it with the control panel, so I deleted it. Now I cant access the recycle bin because remember, I cant access the top left of my screen.

Cheers again for your help guys

Edit Post: Also had problems with Babylon and Facemoods toolbar. I dont recall ever downloading and/or installing these programs. Just one of those things that catch you in the pop-ups! I dont get why people must make these virus's. Seriously. They acchieve nothing but chaos... or thats what they are aiming for... sick people.

Those toolbars probably snuck in with another installer. For instance, my grandmother had a few toolbars in firefox, and I'm pretty sure she didn't install those. By the way, Chrome also does this (this is a major reason for me to use firefox instead).

You need CD-Rs, which are blank. If your machine has Windows 7, you can simply open the .ISO file for the tool if it comes that way with the built in tool (double-click on it) and then burn it to disc. If using an older version of windows, and you don't already have a program for this, use ImgBurn to do it.

Hi Fisher :

At this point it is difficult to tell where SPECIFICALLY
your problem lies . It MAY be as simple as having 2
different antiVIRUS programs ( Avast and Norton ) on your
computer at the same moment in time . That violates a
computer security PRINCIPLE to have ONLY 1 antiVIRUS
program at a time . So I would recommend you start ( and
hopefully end ) by COMPLETELY REMOVING your Norton program
which would include using the "Norton Removal Tool", one of
which is located at http://www.majorgeek...mNRT_d4749.html

But isn't norton better because its not free? Shouldn't I uninstall avast instead? Guys I dont really wanna risk making a mistake on my computer and burning something to disk. I will save up my money and get a computer dude to come here instead....

Norton is a bloated POS. Avast Free and Microsoft Security Essentials are good, well respected AV programs. Norton is not. I agree with spiritwind - nuke Norton and all your other av programs, and keep Avast.

Daemon tools can't burn disks I think. Download imgburn, open the ISO file in it, and you can easily burn it to a CD or DVD there.

(in walks the bad cop)

Here's the deal... If you are going to mess around with torrent sites, then it will behoove you to get good at de-lousing your own PC. Its not whether YOU personnally are a pirate, its that these sites are notorious for piracy and its handmaiden...malware. Many torrent sites don't screen their "product" for malware, so you are definitely in a risky proposition DLing files from them.

How do you get good at de-lousing? You can start by not mocking the free advice you are getting from sites like this one, PCWorld forums.

You can start learning how to make CDs and flashdrives "Live", so they can boot up alternative OS's or Utility programs. Learning how to bring up "safe mode" is also good to know. All of these things can be learned on the web via Google or YouTube or wherever you may find it.

Because if you're going to play with fire, it's good to know how to use the extinguisher.

If none of the above tech talk made any sense to you, then you're in for spending a lot of money... namely for the tech tech pros you'll be calling.
