Another relatively unknown editor is POS Photo Editor, the full version of which has recently become freeware [www.photopos.com/freestuff.asp]. Check out both the Lite and Full versions.

Thank you, Dave !! I look forward to checking these out. I really loved Picnik and used it in conjunction with PSE. I never ahve been able to master "Teeth Whitening" in PSE and Picnik was great for that! I hope these will do the same for me.

None of these has the Furball tool that Picnik has to fix glowing pet eyes in photos. Google+ does not have it. For those of us who take pictures of our pets it was a great tool. Wish someone out there could replicate it.

Ever heard of " Picasa " ??
A free offer from Google as well, it has almost any type of editing features that enthusiasts could need. Many tools with Sliders, & Buttons for all sorts of adjustments, and after tweaking your pix, they are ready to Save, or Send via email, while leaving the original on your hard drive, as it was. - I was impressed from the beginning, and it has evolved into a really great, and simple to use Photo Editor, & Great Organizer! - (FREE!)_

I have never understood why more people have not gone with Picasa and it's web albums. Picasa is free to download and offers a lot of features for being a free program. I also believe people are making a mistake using Facebook for uploading and sharing photos.

I would love to hear the logic behind this 'shocking' decision. Furthermore, I'd love to hear who the dipstick who made this decision is. They're likely making their decision purely on Picnik's profits not hitting their forecasts nor it being likely to contribute any strong growth in subscribers.
What this 'yahoo' isn't considering is what will be most damaging to this decision. If I were in charge, I'd contribute Picnik's inability to generate profits forecasted as justifiable; because the very people that it benefits are the same people who have the most influence over the web. This of course includes bloggers, socialites, and others who set the 'online trends', like if Google is cool or not.
I hate to say it, but Google really screwed the pooch on this decision.
Perhaps their refocused mission of 'attaining & organizing the world's information' may consider actual usable data as more useful, since that's what they use to perfect targeted advertisements. In other words, they can't learn that much about me based on my Woody The Woodpecker pictures, my random art sprees and miscellaneous photo crops. They probably look at this as too much of a 'photo editing' service & not enough of a 'user profiler tool' that could learn about what you like reading about, buying, etc.
That's my two cents.
Sergei, Larry - get control of your company before the execs you have running it turn it into a toilet (like Yahoo).
