Ok hi guys,

My question is about recording of Ps3 gameplay through a monitor.

I've done a search around and found numerous tutorials but all of them have 1 thing in common and that they are using a TV. I'm using a monitor.

Here is my Ps3 set up:

HDMI - DVI to my monitor
Ps3 AV cables connected to 3.5mm jack speakers (Using the RCA to 3.5mm phono (if i got this right lol))

My monitor has both DVI and VGA. So i'm wondering if i can retain the HDMI - DVI connection from PS3 to the Monitor, plug the Av cables to a splitter then to a dvd recorder and use a VGA - RGB cable from the monitor to the dvd recorder. With the splitter, I would be able to still have audio to the speakers i hope.

Would this set up allow me to record the Ps3 gameplay?
