I have an ATI Radeon HD 4870 that worked fine for a year, now it does not wake up the display. The fans still work, but no picture on my monitor.
if it is the Graphics card, is it worth fixing, or should I acquire a new one?

Hi. I have moved this into its own discussion. It is better to do that rather than piggy back it on another discussion ( you have a better chance of getting help ). If you have another Video card or onboard graphics try that and see if you get an image.

Dang it... what happened to the post I'd made responding to it?

Anyway, does the monitor work on a different computer? Have you tried clearing the cmos? (remove the little coin battery next to the PCIe x16 slot for a few minutes) Do you get hard drive activity when you turn on the PC, when it should be booting into Windows?
