I am wondering if there might be a 5.0 gh router rather than the 2.4GH. I haven't talked to ATT but they didn't seem to interested in fixing the problem. Any ideas??

My son just had ATT DSL installed in his home. He has 6 2.4 wireless security cameras running. The router screws up the video recording. I haven't seen the setup yet because he is out of town but he has no home phone and said they put a box on the outside of his house. There doesn't appear to be a seperate modem like my ATT DSL.

Even if the modem/router box is outside, there should still be an ethernet cable coming in from the modem/router...although I have never encountered a situation where the modem/router was outside the house...there has always been an modem (with or without a built-in router) in the house that connects to a telephone jack.
The end result is that either way he should be able to still use a third party 5 GHz router. The only potential wrinkle is whether or not he can turn off the wireless in the modem/router from AT&T. He might have to contact AT&T about that.
