Hey swccman, I would recommend you go with Backtrack instead. It is the gold standard security Linux distribution with the same tools (plus much more) and it is legitimate. No need to download this which is from a non-reputable source and could contain unwanted software.

Given Anon/LulzSec's several failed attempts at gaining control of several botnets, this would do nicely as a means for building their own.

Well, no, as a security professional I would certainly be out of a job if I thought that! I am simply recommending exactly what SumpterCarter wants, which is this OS without the "hacking stuff". That would be Ubuntu, the most used Linux distribution that is the underlying system for this AnonOS. And for what it's worth, from a security perspective, you are still better off with a linux platform than Windows/Mac. While windows has become much better, it is still the most targeted OS.

That does not negate the fact that no OS is uncrackable, which was TheOldTopkick's point. It is quite possible that Anon's distro has been tampered with so as create zombies for Anon's use.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't believe that the OP made any sort of suggestion to the contrary. I was perplexed by TheOldTopkick's response myself.
