I am surprised you did not add MAC address filtering, which is a capability of most routers. Restricting access to only specific devices is a definite way to limit connectivity (though it can sometimes be annoying and is definitely an extra step).

MAC filtering, like hidden SSIDs, is not usually considered a security measure. This is because it is extremely easy to bypass MAC filters using tools such as macchanger for Linux.
