Remove An Email Address In Gmail

I clicked the upper left on "GMail" and all that happened was another gmail page opened up with my email again.

Gmail will also remember every address the was CC'd in any email you receive; contacts that you never directly contacted. Cleaning them out becomes quite a chore.

"You just want to get rid of that particular address.

In that case, don't select Delete Contact. Just click inside the unwanted address field, press CTRL-a to select the entire address, then press DELETE. comment"

I have done this but now the address deletion will not save. What next?
