OMG IS THIS ARTICLE LYING? Check out NYT.

http://www.nytimes.c...tore-fraud.html

If you don't like the link, it is basically saying there are floods of fraudulent app creators getting into the apple app store.

When the uS government requires that they connect using tweeter for an their emergency communications then you can sure count on being hacked again, and with each additional federal request...the possibility just gets better...for someone to use a device illegally.
That's one reason for not ever tweeting anything or using Facebook or another social network.
I keep my communications down to just commenting on sights that allow me to comment without using face book and tweeter.
I check the balance for my Debit card, a way I never share with anyone else.
I communicate with my family using an email address only.
Everyone have a wonderful day...

Hey Zathius, I am one of the authors of the above mentioned talk. I'm not lying and I'm aware of the article you mentioned. It's important to note that the NYTimes article is about people with Windows computers who have had them infected by malware and their iTunes credentials stolen. These credentials are then used to purchase services and manipulate application rankings. This activity has no relation at all to mobile *device* compromises which the talk is about.

In the talk, we collected concrete data on over 500 mobile attacks that have been performed in the last two years and used analyst methods to identify and model attacker behavior. In the entire data set, which we believe to be comprehensive for all attacks exploiting mobile devices, there is not a single case of iOS malware. The talk explores the reasons for this, some of which are mentioned above.

Umm, so with Apple you provide your identity and $99 online. Android, $25 and fill out a form online. How is that any different? Two, I've not heard of tons of malware being available for iOS or Android for that matter. I have heard of properly working apps like Facebook using our stuff. I'd be more concerned about Google and Apple using these devices to track your every move over some lameo with a desire to see your bikini pictures.

So, Google makes you pay $25 and fill out an online form to develop apps. This is exactly what Apple makes you do, and yes, they both ask for your identity. I know, because I wrote an app for both platforms. Two, I haven't heard about malware for iOS or Android being a problem. I'd be more concerned about Apple and Google using phones to track your every move, than some lameo hacking your phone and finding your topless beach photo.
