Hello,
ı'm on the market for a new laptop W.7 Home or Pro 32 bit
as ı don't want to be stuck wıth having to get Windows 8
and need to ask 2 thıngs:
1. Which Brand ıs most reliable,Hp ı don't want
(as even theır non existent customer service sucks, big time)
2.is W.7 Home much inferior in features, compared to Pro?
I'll only be doing basıcs such as word processing and stuff,
which i know ıs good enough for W.7 Home.
Anyone who has W.7 Pro and can tell me what they think?
Much appreciated in advance.
The question Which brand is the best isn't really a good question. The main reason is most companies specialize in certain classifications of laptops. Lenova is know for their business computers and Dell's Alienware is know for their gaming laptops. Acer makes some low cost laptops. When I shop for a laptop I don't concentrate on a brand but on a specific model that meets my needs.
Generally speaking,so do i,
however customer service and reliability are important,
and knowing which companies excell at substandart customer service
and parts reliability does certainly matter!
therefore asking about that is NOT a negative.
But thank you for your input.
Well if you get a quality machine you never find out how good or bad the support is. Actually I've owned 5 laptops since 2001 Acer, Sager and HP laptops and I havent had to use support much at all. I had 2 Sager and one the graphics card went bad and they replaced the Mobo and i was happy the way that was handled. I also had the HP making a loud fan noise and HP support was able to fix it over the phone. I've had 2 Acer's and never had to use their support. One is over 5 years old and still working fine.
Yes i agree, that if you get a quality machine, you may well NOT need much support.
Neither have i needed much support, with my HP business laptop, which is still going strong,
after more than 5 years.
İ do believe however, that existing good support is a must,
as you never know, what may happen,
and therefore i always check a manufacturer's customer support pages,
before i commit to a pc brand.
İ prefer to play it safe.
