I was wondering where I would be able to find an old Macintosh because I'm into old and new technology. I've tried eBay and Craigslist but can't find good deals on them. It would be helpful if there are other places to be able to find one. Thanks!

Where Can I Find An Old Macintosh?

I just dumped one last week at an E-cycle event. The old all in one case Mac SE30. 30 MB hard drive. No keyboard or mouse. I hated them, enclosing the high voltage flyback circuit in the same case as a CPU is a recipe for trouble. The IBM PS2 tried a bit more sheilding but still was a flaky workstation. Working units are antiques and museum pieces, fetching high prices at auctions. Some rare finds have been seen at local flea markets and garage sales.

What specifically do you mean by "old Macintosh"?
Do you mean an original Macintosh computer? If so, those will be rather rare and likely rather expensive. Even versions like the Mac Plus or Mac SE or original Mac II are likely rather rare and will be on the expensive side for very old and completely out dated computer. This is because many of these are essentially "collector's items". Kind of like some people will pay a lot of money for some "collectible" toy from Star Wars, etc. For any of these, your best bet to find a cheap one is to hunt garage sales and such hoping to find someone who does not realize that it is a potential collector's item...otherwise you will likely have to pay for them from the likes of eBay, etc.
If you just mean an "older" Mac that might include a G4 Tower or G4 Powerbook, then eBay or such is your best bet, but you might find local sellers as well.

I noticed you changed your response from "Classic Macintosh" to the "original Macintosh", which is good as there was a "Mac Classic" that came about AFTER the original Macintosh.
As to getting an original Macintosh, working versions will be rare and likely expensive. So, unless you find a deal (or some might say "steal") at something like a garage sale, you will have face the fact that you likely will have to pay more for it then you might want.
