Tony Bradley's article reflects a lot of my questions about Windows 8. If the Windows 8 tablets can be sold for appreciably less money than the Apple iPad, I'm on board. If we can near flawlessly exchange files between tablets, laptops, and desktops, I'm on board. If Windows 8 can "sneak in" functions that Google Chrome or MAC cannot do, I'm on board.

I don't think they even need to cost less than an ipad. A light-weight Windows 8 tablet w/ usb & card reader ports, that has all the functionality of my laptop (minus a dvd drive) would easily be worth the same price as an ipad. As fun/cool as an ipad may be, my problem with it is all the limited functionality. And if I'm willing to pay $600 for a device w/ limited functionality, I'd definitely pay that for a tablet w/ full pc functionality AND smooth touch screen integration.

Windows 8 Tablets and Convertibles will be a guaranteed success as long as there are no major bugs. It's not a new platform like Android. Even if the tablets are as popular as iPads, there will be plently of convertibles that will absolutly sell and eventually drive the tablet sales.
