Hint: The smartphone "universe" encompasses more than the USA.
If I dispute one single point in a post, that should not be taken as an indication that I agree/disagree with any other point made by that poster or anyone else in the thread. Or anywhere else. Ever.

I guess the opinions of Americans are the only ones they are looking for.

Which bring up and interesting point. US companies need to realize the internet is world wide, not just a US thing.

That was a quick survey
"Do you live in the USA"

Answer: NO

"Thanks for participating..."

PCWorld thinks that there is No Life Outside of USA. There is no Internet outside of USA. There are no Computers outside of USA. In fact, the entire World IS USA.

Thank God I left that Godless Hell Hole!!!!!

none of those questions will generate anything I want to read -- multiple questions about whether "I'm in love with it" and "I'm addicted to it" -- come on! Marketing CRAP

I subscribed to PC World because it concentrated on PCs. I couldn't care less about MacIntoshes, iPads, iPhones, smartphones or the like. As this content increased my interest waned, in inverse proportion. So I let my print subscription lapse, and probably will unsubscribe to the Internet content as well eventually if the trend continues.

I could not possibly care less about smart phone features or anything else dealing with frivolous gadgetry (iPads, tablets et al.)

I subscribed to this site when the focus was primarily PCs.

When the subject matter deals with this other stuff I delete the email and get on with my life.

While I'd be the first to agree that Americans can be very parochial, this is NOT an example of parochialism. It's a survey NOT of computer-users or global internet users but a survey of those who use the services of US mobile phone carriers. Why should it be a survey of all the world's mobile phone users? I don't get it. Also, PCWorld is a US magazine. Most magazines are specific to one country. Most surveys are limited to a specific area or population.

As for being hell-hole, that I guess is a matter of subjective opinion. As for being a "Godless", we're not but I wish we were. We are supposed to be (the U.S. constitution is supposed to clearly separate state from church) but we have a very powerful Christian Taliban who have, unfortunately, alot of influence on your country's policies (like support for the death penalty which many of them claim is a religious duty).

ah, last time I checked, PC stood for Personal Computers. Whats not personal or computing about mac's, iPad's, iPhones, or smartphones the like? They do almost everything a laptop or desktop would. They just dont have the screen real estate. But even then you can attach them to keyboards and monitors. I understand your point. But the future is-a-changing; like it or not. But that's an entirely different thread...

I just got the email from PC World about the survey this morning, but it's already closed. Argh.
