Depending on how well the bag is protected, and hazards in flight, I'd say this is - at BEST - a concept, if not a joke.

Wouldn't cost be the main factor? You have to think it would cost a lot more for tacos to be delivered by copter than by normal delivery. So even if it were real, would it be worth paying so much more to have it delivered by copter?

Would we have to "duck" while walking along the street, so that Tacocopters won't smack us in the head?

If not at street level, where would they be required to fly?

Will there be "control towers"? ;)

Yes it would. If I could get a taco delivered to me on my deck without getting up.....soooooo lazy!

Unless something has changed recently, there are certain guidelines that have to be followed according to the FAA, of which one is the Line of Sight Requirement from either a ground operator or a tail craft. Also the height restriction is 400ft so there is some room, but unless they been working on getting a license for this for a while i highly doubt this is real.

but a cool idea none the less.

The one way I see it possibly working is that they would drive to somewhere close to your location--say, down the block--and let the quadrotor fly the rest of the way.

Then there's the problem of heat-seeking surface-to-air TacoCopter interceptors launched by hungry, conscienceless third parties. When they enter active service, these quadrotors had better be capable of evasive action.

I have a bit of experience with fixed wing drones, and the biggest hurtles i see are the range of the bots, most of these run off of a 9 channel rc transmitter, probably running arducopter autopilot. The delivery method I have to question as well.... why because 4 12" blades spinning in your face cant be good....

Total hoax. If not, I'm sad to see that good money is allowed into he hands of people lacking sense.

Did you know the word gullible is not in the dictionary? C'mon, guys, a Quadricopter can barely lift itself. How could you possibly imagine it zooming around (way out of bluetooth range) delivering food?

although this is obviously a hoax, neither of your reasons are correct. 1) the lift capacity depends on the quadrotor. i just recently built one that can lift 9 pounds and still lose only 20% of it's performance. they are VERY powerful. and 2) most quads don't use bluetooth. i use a turnigy 9x modified with dragonlink to control my quadrotor, and the furthest i have flown so far is 38 km (23.6 miles). as for me, i am seriously considering starting a business like this. if there are any taco chefs out there looking for work, give me a ring!
