Recently found Canoscan 5000F flatbed photo/film scanner which my husband bought years ago to scan old photographs and slides and then lost interest.
Now that I am retired, I am going to take up the project...but only have the scanner--no software disc, no slide/negative holder to use for scanning those...
Is it possible to revive this scanner and use with our current Gateway hard drive running Windows 7?
If so--would appreciate a tutorial or links to where to get the info...and any other equipment that I might need to make it useable...
And is it possible to buy replacement slide/negative holder for this scanner--don't think placing them on the glass bed will be good idea...

Plug it into the PC, and see if Windows update downloads drivers for you. Use the Windows Fax and Scan utility. If they don't have any, you're out of luck. Canon's website doesn't have any 64-bit drivers for it.
