This happened to me once while exiting a bank...didn't break anything though. The door just made a loud reverberating bang when my head hit the glass which made everyone look in my direction xD

Apple should countersue for the cost of cleaning her snot off the glass.

... and get a restraining order to keep her at a safe distance from all Apple stores.

The judge should throw the case out of court. On the other hand, the legal profession needs to be supported, so the case (regrettably) will be allowed into court.

While I agree this is silly on the ladie's part, you need to grow up. Take your nerd rage over to youtube where it can be appreciated.

I've walked into the one at Knoxville, TN but it wasn't hard enough to break my nose. However, I think this and my mishap had less to do with the transparent nature of the door and more to do with the brain having a quick lapse of spatial relationships. That can happen too, especially when your brain is very color dependent for estimating distance traveled. Ask anyone who has played racquet ball.

However, just shrug it off, there isn't much anyone can do to prevent your brain from doing this from time to time, given a straight shot entrance. Just slow down on your approach. Best piece of advice, know thyself, know that you're just a nimwit at judging distance and you'll avoid most bangs into doors. Stop being in such a hurry!

"The defendant .....allowed a clear, see-through glass wall to exist."

There's your problem, folks. Glass walls shouldn't exist. It's not like it's the old woman's fault or anything.

Oh, wait....

I think that I recall walking into a plexiglass wall at the local GM dealership. No lasting damage. I didn't buy a car there that I remember...

Yes, we've all done stupid things like this at one point in our life. It's not a matter of doors being made of glass, etc., it's a matter of situational awareness and simply paying attention. While I do have some level of sympathy for people during incidents like this, that sympathy quickly evaporates when they become greedy and try to sue others for outrageous sums of money due to their own stupidity. If this woman truly does have a visual impairment, then she should have a walking stick as other visually impaired individuals do.

....Sfterwards she headed over the local Starbucks to spill some hot coffee on herself and file another lawsuit.

So, what's with the greedy, lawsuit slinging old farts these days?

(PS: I'm well along in years myself...but this makes us all look bad.)

I think Apple should pay her to repair her eyes instead of her nose...

The same thing happened to an 83 year old friend of mine at the Brea Mall Apple store. 911 was called. She required stitched. Clerks comment? "This happens all the time".
