I have Windows 7 running IE. 9.0.. I'm wanting to clean out programs in control panel that I no longer need. My questions is, Can I delete a multiple program that is shown 6 times? The program is; Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x64 9.0.3.. Why do some programs seem to be installed multiple times and can the older programs or older updates be deleted? I apologize for my question not being very concise but I don't know another way to word it. A big thanks in advance...

In short, I would advise against deleting that stuff as it is needed and a part of Windows.

I would not remove them, Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable. Some programs need the older version to work since they will not work with the newer programs. Well others will work with the newer version but not the older. You do not want to remove updates since the new update might depend on the older updated.
Windows 8 is a useless OS that Microsoft released that has many flaws and bugs. DO NOT USE IT. Use Windows XP or Windows 7.
