One thing to note though: WHS & Storage Server are basically the same product; the difference is that it's preloaded by the OEM on this box and WHS you can install yourself. So it's not that it's easier to install; it's just installed for you.

Slight correction, Storage Server R2 Essentials does not actually do the magic of converting Raid 1 to Raid 5 when you add drives to the 2 drive unit, WD gets credit for that.
You also failed to mention the client backup feature. When you install the connector on up to 25 PC's it automaticaly does a full image backup of the PC(s) every night. These backups are stored in a Single Instance Storage backup database on the server, so its use of space is very efficient. So if you need to restore a file, a folder, or the entire PC to a new hard drive, it is a simple wizard away. Start the wizard, type the password, pick what machine you want, pick a date on the calendar, click next. We don't seem to be able to prevent users from clicking bad links. At least now we have them backed up

Actually, Intel's Rapid Storage Technology should be credited. Thanks for pointing that out. The article should now read correctly. Feel free to email me when you spot these technical flaws.
Cheers, Jon
