I have a proposition to make:
Change your name from Facebook to Facecontrol or Blackbook.

Never do online what you wouldn't do in front of the police, your boss, your spouse or your worst enemy.

How about not falsely accussing someone of being a racist and then posting the incorrect address of someone just so they can be harrassed by others looking for blood and violence?

So I should not mention all the LSD I am using, the marijuana growing in the attic and basement and the fast boats unloading bales at my dock?

In other words, assume anything you post on Facebook, or for that matter anywhere on the internet is public and anyone can see it. Why is it that some people still don't get that?

Because they want to believe that they can have both worldwide exposure AND privacy. These are people who believe you can have your cake and eat it too.

Also, keep in mind that criminals also use the internet - and I don't mean just the cyber kind. Posting the layout of the house you just bought makes things easier for burglars - as dooes posting that you're going on a week's vacation.

If you have even contemplated doing any of these things, you are too stupid to have a facebook account.

I hate to point out the obvious - that juries & often judges are woefully ignorant about therapy, physical or otherwise. Beledi dancing IS very therapeutic, for instance. & getting a depressed woman to celebrate her birthday IS good therapy. These may sound funny to some, but show a very skewed & ignorant attitude.
Also, the message here seems to be, if you're DISHONEST, don't post proof of it. None of this has anything to do w/most of us. I post pics of me dancing all the time - so what?

As I pointed out, even "innocent" posts can come back and bite you. Let's say you've just been given a promotion, and the company is sending you out of town for a three day training seminar. Isn't this the kind of thing you might post on FB? Upon your return from the seminar, you find your home has been burgled. Can you be certain none of your so-called "friends" isn't the perpetrator? Yes, there are those who are very careful about privacy settings and who they give "friend" status to... but I would suspect far too many people do not exercise enough caution in both areas.

Don't post anything that you wouldn't hand out to everyone in the worst section of town.
