The Gmail Tap guy actually says that the people best served by it will be people with FAT fingers, not people with five fingers.

You are indeed correct. Someone just pointed that out to me on Twitter. I should have listened to the video with headphones instead of speakers, turned up the volume and had more coffee. April Fool's madness this morning!
