Amazon's Dominates Google In App Revenue: Thank Apple?

I think there is another reason why Amazon's app store is being more successful. Amazon's branded tablet is by far the most successful Android tablet. I suspect that Kindle Fire owners think of their tablet more as an "Amazon tablet" than a "Google tablet", and therefore expect to have a better shopping experience through Amazon's app store. There may also be some truth to this since Amazon is more likely to make sure that the apps in its app store work well with the Kindle, while I suspect that Google couldn't care less.

Right. Amazon's Tablet out sold every Google Experience smart phone and tablet out there.
Nope.
I'm sure the Kindle Fire is a significant part of the picture but far from the whole picture.

Per user revenue is statistical sophistry. what matters to the developers is absolute total revenue from a platform (whether by ads or by donations or purchase price.) In terms of absolute Total Revenue the Amazon App store is no match for the Google Play Android Market.

The recently released report detailing higher app prices on Google Play vs. the iOS store on comps. doesn't bear out that logic. Responding app devs were clear in their need to sell at a higher price on the Android platforms due to poor sell thru. Basically, simple supply and demand dictated price. If app devs were raking it in on Google Play on absolute total revenue then per app prices on comps would be the same price or lower than on iOS. Now I understand you have limited your comment to Amazon but the logic transfers to Amazon as well. Also, just this week, the dollar numbers on Google's total revenue earned on the Android platform since 2008 came out. The numbers were staggering in their lack of size. Make no doubt about it, the publicists will rah rah but the business oriented folks at Google are not cheering behind closed doors.
