Google Is Responsible For Misleading Ads, Australian Court Rules

Blaming Google for other's lies isn't exactly fair. If I put an ad up and have the title be "Free phones from PCWorld" and in reality you have to pay for them and they aren't from PCWorld, is that Google's fault?

IMO, if you were to do this, the moment Google accepted your money for the ad, they become liable for its content. Apparently the Australian court feels the same way I do.

If Google was paid to run the ad or if Google paid to run the ad, they are responsible, no matter how you shake it out. It remains now to see if Google removes the ad from all Google sites.

Just typical GoOgle tactics. Perhaps one day the U.S. will enforce truth in advertising. But as long as the Ad Counsil and big corporations keeps our politicians well paid, I kind of doubt it....
