CON - Using the glasses must more distracting/obnoxious to fool with than texting currently is.

2. The designs in the pictures concern me for those wishing to use these while driving. The temple could obstruct peripheral vision causing a blind spot, not conducive to good driving.

Seriously? Reduced peripheral vision?
People wearing these while driving should have their vehicle seized, their driver's license suspended and be subjected to a cavity search, including but not limited to their cranial cavity.

About the batteries, I do believe that they recharge on their own or require a plug-in activation to charge. I don't know if Google is planning to do wire-less batteries or not, because using glasses like these require electrics, like computers.
I have to agree with you about the privacy issue, we have seen big gaps of security that has been fixed (ex: Steam, Facebook). Google also tracks where you are. It could be fatal because assassins could hack through the system, abuse it by tracking a person's location, waiting for the right time to.. kill... the other person.

Disregarding the current state of battery technology, what about weight? Strangely enough, in all that I've seen in the news articles about them over the last day or so, that rather important bit of information is conspicuously absent.
Because of weight, I rather suspect they'll be quite uncomfortable to wear for anything other than an exceedingly short period of time. In that regard, an eyeglass clip-on version would be even worse. Plus, I'd hate to be walking or driving while using them, you'd be a quick accident waiting to happen. In other words, other than being a statement of conspicuous consumption, at best you'll have bought yourself an over-priced shelf ornament.
They won't really be practical until further advancements in electronics miniaturization, particularly battery technology, are available.
This will be a Google DUD, no doubt about it. A good thought, nice try, but no cigar....

That's because it's vaporware.
It weighs nothing, costs very little, has nothing wrong with it and is better than anything we have ever experienced.
Then someone tries making the product and spoils everything.
